we spent the weekend in valle crucis at the mast farm inn. for anyone needing a weekend getaway - i can't recommend the inn enough. it was absolutely. perfect. we stayed in one of the cabins (not the main inn) and i was smitten from the moment i walked in.
it snowed the entire weekend which felt like an added bonus with the cozy fireplace, bottles of bubbly icing in the snow and the hot tub right outside our door.
we did valentine's day dinner at the inn, and it was right out of a movie.
every drink on the cocktail menu was made from moonshine. this had me suspicious. i am southern, but the line must be drawn somewhere. brian meares had both of ours.
and obligatory selfie because my hair was made for valentine's day. and maybe halloween (if your child wants a little mermaid themed party, an appearance is possible, but i bill by the quarter hour)
breakfast was included each morning in the main house - in front of a fire with fresh coffee, bluegrass playing on the speakers and all of the guests chatting away about what magical spot they'd discovered the day before

i tell you what - that pillow. i was fishing for a label, or designer - anything, but no dice. it's just going to stay pretty all on it's own for everyone to enjoy at the mast farm inn.
i couldn't bring him home, but i did get this special hand-turned vase in the most gorgeous coral glaze

super special in the snow, but in the spring the wildflowers are blooming, donkey gets his spring cut, you can canoe the river, and the crazy-eyed goat will have had her babies!
